Yes, yes, I know — it’s been way too long since I last posted. Well, I’ve been a bit busy with travel, work, etc. But I’m back! This time, I’m new and improved without cancer
I had my last treatment this week and on Friday, they removed my central line (thank God). My skin surrounding the line had become so irritated from 7 months of bandages that it has been broken out very bad and just become hard to manage. But it’s out and I was even able to take a shower this weekend for the first time in 7 months (watch the comments, I was taking baths).
The nurses at the Oncology office have been absolutely terrific and are angels, each and every one of them. These wonderful people deal with sickness and death on a daily basis and do whatever they can to make life better for these patients. I will make it a point to visit them often as they have had a profound effect on my life.
The visit with my oncologist went terrific. He said that according to all of the indications he has, I should never have to deal with anything like this again. He also mentioned that this was an unfortunate “blip” on my radar and that I should get out there and live life again. I can’t wait
So all and all, it was a great week. Thanks to each and every one of you who have been there with me through this. Your support will never be forgotten.
