Yesterday, Feb 4th, was World Cancer day. Cancer is the leading cause of death around the world. The World Health Organization estimates that 84 million people between 2005 and 2015 without intervention.
Today is the 1 year anniversary of my initial trip to the hospital. Tomorrow February 6th is Emily’s second birthday and the first anniversary of the day I was told I had cancer.
Get checked folks. Colonoscopy for everyone and mammograms for the ladies. Don’t wait for it — get it done. My surgeon said that my cancer had been developing from around the age of 27. I don’t have a family history of it and I tested negative on my genetics testing.
A little discomfort and disruption in your week is a small price to pay for early detection.
